DOOM WATCH starts at the Lookout at Stepper Point, above the Camel estuary. They are keen to welcome visitors. The map on the notice board displays so many boats sunk nearby. That was the first I'd heard about the Doom Bar - a sandbank at the mouth of the Camel which shifts about regularly.
The key mystery in Doom Watch is the human remains found in the pool at the the old Prince of Wales Quarry near Trewarmett. I first visited the quarry in 2007; I thought at the time that it would make a good place to hide a body. But to learn any more you will need to read the book... |
